HOPKINTON, R.I. (WLNE)– The Rhode Island Department of Health has recommended reopening the swimming areas at Camp Yawgoog in Hopkinton, as they say bacteria counts have returned to safe levels.
The Sandy Point, Three Point and Medicine Bow areas in the camp were closed on Friday afternoon due to high bacteria counts.
RIDOH will be monitoring and reviewing the water quality of beaches throughout the state through Labor Day.
