This time last year, Sadie McMullen was still a long jumper at the University of Wyoming. Her only knowledge of bobsledding came from Disney’s “Cool Runnings,” a family comedy about the 1988 Jamaican bobsled team.

McMullen’s life would soon change forever due to a call from USA Bobsled and Skeleton, asking her track coaches if they had any athletes who would like to come out to their first “Slide to Glory recruitment combine in Salt Lake City. McMullen’s coaches convinced her to drive out for the combine, where she excelled.

McMullen was the one woman pulled from the combine to Lake Placid, New York, to learn the sport at U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton’s headquarters. She would continue to crush it there, making the 2024-25 World Cup roster, traveling Europe competing. She will now vie for th
