The final ballot counts from Tuesday’s primary election are still trickling in, with Summit County voters choosing their preferred candidates in several municipal elections.
Summit County voters, based on their municipality, scrubbed the playing field for Coalville City Council and mayoral candidates, as well as candidates for Henefer Town mayor and Francis City Council.
Coalville
Summit County Democratic Party Chair Rory Swensen was the first-place finisher in Coalville’s mayoral election, according to preliminary results released around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Swensen received 143 votes and appears almost certain to advance to the November ballot.
Coalville City Councilor Lynn Wood, with 111 votes, appears likely to have beaten out the other candidates for a shot at the mayor’s office.
