BUTLER TWP. — Police in Butler Township say they arrested Aven S. Moronta, 22, of Hazleton, on allegations he initiated a pursuit that ended in Wright Township Sunday night.

After being arrested, according to a Butler Township news release, Moronta apologized and told an officer he had a “bad day.”

An officer on patrol in the area of South Hunter Highway and Stonecraft Road encountered a SUV driving erratically at about 10:40 p.m.

Moronta, who was identified as the driver of the SUV, accelerated reaching speeds up to 120 mph as he crossed over the double yellow line to pass other vehicles and turned off the vehicle headlights, the news release says.
