President Donald Trump took to social media Tuesday to tease the upcoming Kennedy Center Honors award ceremony — while floating the idea of renaming the national cultural center after himself.

“Great nominees for the Trump/Kennedy Center, whoops, I mean, Kennedy Center, awards,” Trump wrote in an online post on his social media platform Truth Social. “They will be announced Wednesday. Tremendous work is being done, and money being spent, on bringing it back to the absolute top level of luxury, glamour, and entertainment.”

Trump had long feuded with the Kennedy Center, calling it “woke” and “terrible” back in February. Soon after, he fired the center’s president and its board of trustees, and subsequently named himself as the organization’s chairman.

He outlined plans to revamp the center’s Honors program in March, including floating the idea of hosting the center’s award ceremony himself.

And now, months later, Trump appears to still be infatuated with reshaping the Kennedy Center in his image — including the potential name change.

“It had fallen on hard times, physically, but will soon be making a major comeback!” Trump wrote.

Held every December since 1978, the Kennedy Center Honors is an annual award ceremony for performing arts. Before Trump’s appointment as the center’s board chair, its CEO was Shonda Rhimes, American television producer and screenwriter best known for creating the ABC drama “Grey’s Anatomy.” Rhimes resigned within hours of Trump’s appointment.
