Students at Colerain High School now have a safer way to walk to school after the installation of sidewalks on two common cut-through areas.

Pippin Road and Joseph Road were identified as sidewalk deserts. It was estimated that more than 100 students would walk on the shoulder of a busy road to get to school. Advertisement

The total cost for the walkways was over $368,000. It was fully covered by grant money from Hamilton County and Metro.

To celebrate, there will be a ribbon cutting Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

Class begins on Monday, Aug. 18.
