LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)-- A school and church custodian receives the ultimate back-to-school gift as one parent pays it forward with $1,000.

Each month, Bob Giles with Giles Automotive randomly selects someone in Acadiana and gives them the chance to "Pay it Forward."

This month, Lindsey Homan was presented with an envelope of cash and the chance to surprise someone she knows with the money.

"That would be a treat," Homan said. "I would love to do that."

Homan originally chose to donate the money to St. Mary Mother of the Church in Lafayette. She said she works there part time and that her children attended preschool there.
