The Spanish capital and parts of France and Turkey are battling dangerous conditions and fires, as ITV News' Lora Jones reports.

At least one person has been killed in Spain as wildfires continue to burn across Europe.

Authorities confirmed the death as a wildfire swept through more than 2000 acres of land just outside of Madrid.

12 fire engines and three helicopters were at the scene,

Firefighters have worked to tackle the blaze and have begun letting residents return to their homes.

Elsewhere, temperatures are expected to climb to 44 degrees Celsius in some parts of Spain as emergency services continue to battle wildfires in several Spanish regions.

Several fires have forced thousands of people to evacuate, including holidaymakers in Cadiz on Monday.
