Police have been advised to publicly share the ethnicity and nationality of suspects charged in high profile cases in a bid to curb misinformation spreading online.

The guidance, which is effective immediately, has been issued from the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) and the College of Policing after mounting pressure on police over the details they make public.
