FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) - A teen charged with multiple complicity charges in connection with a shooting incident on a highway in Kentucky has pleaded not guilty.
Police said 19-year-old Westin Harris turned himself in last week after an investigation into an incident where two people shot at cars on U.S. 23 near the Bull Creek Trade Center in Floyd County.
Harris’ attorney asked for a bond reduction and waived the upcoming preliminary hearing during the court appearance Monday, sending the case directly before a grand jury.
County Attorney Keith Bartley said his office is opposed to lowering the bond, saying the current charges of complicity to wanton endangerment and criminal mischief are serious offenses.
Bartley added that he expects more charges will be brought forward.
