A 17-year-old Odessan was arrested Sunday evening after his mom told authorities he threatened her with a steak knife for refusing to buy him tobacco.
According to an Odessa Police Department report, officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Clifford Street for a disturbance.
The caller told dispatchers her son, Xavier Morris, had a history of violence and had threatened her with a knife.
When officers arrived, Morris was told to come out of his bedroom without any knives and he indicated the knife he used to prevent his mom from opening the door and upsetting him was on the bed, the report stated.
