If you’re lucky, you awoke to the steady whir of air conditioning and not the sticky stew of overnight heat. But if you can hold out for one more warm day, the weather will take a turn for the cooler, pivoting on a particularly colorful night.
After Monday’s high of 87 degrees, the overnight low at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport was 69 degrees, breaking the record (for a high overnight low) of 66 degrees set in 1981, said National Weather Service meteorologist Samantha Borth.
Temperatures could reach the 90s in the Seattle area on Tuesday, Borth said. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory until 10 p.m. Tuesday.
Tuesday night into Wednesday morning won’t be so warm, though, with an expected low of 62 at Sea-Tac.
