ORISKANY, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) -- A pair of Oriskany Skyhawks will be sharing the Class D baseball player of the year, according to the New York State Sportswriters Association (NYSSWA).

NYSSWA announced its All-State Baseball Team for the 2024-25 school year on Monday, August 11. Senior catcher Nicholas Hays and junior utility player Eddie Wright were both named Class D's Player of the Year, and were among 12 local players named to the All-State Team.

Fellow Skyhawks Dean Koenig and Sean Graziano were also named to the second and third teams in Class D, respectively. All four players were instrumental in leading Oriskany to its first-ever state championship, following state final appearances in 2012 and 2024. The Skyhawks finished with a 19-1 record in 2025.
