LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of Arkansas , allowing the state to enforce its ban on gender-affirming care for minors.

In the court ruling on Tuesday, the court said that it decided to reverse the lower court decision due to the previous ruling being made on "incorrect conclusions of law."

The court ruled that the state's Save Adolescents from Experimentation Act that was passed in 2021 didn't violate the Equal Protection Clause, Due Process Clause, or First Amendment rights. The law bans the ability to provide gender-affirming care for minors, which includes the use of puberty blockers, hormones, and surgeries.
