FARGO — Christopher McDonald of the "Happy Gilmore" movies fame has canceled his appearance at Newman Outdoor Field that was scheduled later this month. And there apparently won't be an opportunity for a mulligan.

McDonald plays the "Shooter McGavin" character in both "Happy Gilmore" and "Happy Gilmore 2," which was recently released.

"Fargo RedHawk fans, Shooter McGavin here with my apologies, I cannot make it this month because they're pulling me right, left and center from the Happy Gilmore stuff," McDonald said in a video the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks posted on social media.

McDonald was slated to for an Aug. 26 appearance at Newman for a RedHawks game against American Association baseball rival Winnipeg.
