While investigators may never know for sure who shot and killed Renzo Smith, no additional charges are expected in connection to the deadly Huguenot High School graduation shooting on June 6, 2023, Richmond Police Chief Rick Edwards said Tuesday morning.

In a seven-minute video , Edwards shared new information related to the Monroe Park shooting that left Smith and his stepson, Shawn Jackson, dead and several others wounded.

Amari Pollard later pleaded guilty to the murder of Jackson and will spend at least 25 years behind bars. But detectives have concluded that Pollard didn’t shoot Smith.

Edwards said that, of the four guns that fired dozens of bullets that day, two have never been recovered. That means detectives can only speculate as to the identity of Smith’s killer.
