Blackburn Rovers have rejected a £1.5m offer from Derby County for captain Lewis Travis as speculation over the midfielder's future continues to intensify.
Derby are eager to add Travis to their squad and reunite him with head coach John Eustace , but their initial bid has fallen short of Rovers' valuation , reports the Lancashire Telegraph.
If the two clubs fail to agree on a fee, Rovers risk losing Travis for nothing next summer given the player has one year remaining on his contract.
Rovers have not ruled out the player's departure and have already sold Callum Brittain to Middlesbrough for £3.5m after he too had 12 months remaining on his current deal.
Blackburn boss Valerien Ismael could not rule out Travis' departure but it will only happen if their demands are met.
