The man accused of opening fire at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention headquarters in Atlanta last week wanted to make the public aware of his discontent with COVID-19 vaccines , authorities said Tuesday.
The shooter, previously identified as 30-year-old Patrick Joseph White, broke into a safe to get the five weapons he brought to the scene of the rampage that left a police officer dead , Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Chris Hosey said at a press conference late Tuesday morning.
White fired nearly 500 rounds — more than 180 of which struck six CDC buildings — before dying of a self-inflicted wound in a nearby building, Hosey told reporters.
Preliminary information from the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office suggests White was not hit by any shots f
