EastEnders fans are claiming to have ‘worked out’ that a former character is ‘coming back from the dead’ in what would mark a huge twist.

Returning from the dead is not a rarity on the BBC soap, with a number of characters believed to be gone forever returning to Albert Square over the years.

In one of the more famous examples, Dirty Den Watts stepped into the Queen Vic 14 years after he was shot and fell into the Walford canal in 1989.

Sadly for Den, who was revealed to have been living in Spain for more than a decade, he was killed less than two years later in February, 2005, when his wife Chrissie hit him was a doorstop.

Another EastEnders fake-out death was Kathy Beale, with viewers informed in 2006 that she died in a car crash in South Africa with her then-husband Gavin Sulliv
