Approximately 30% of Summit County voters had submitted ballots in the primary election as of Tuesday morning, but Summit County Clerk Eve Furse said she expected the number to grow by at least a few percentage points by the end of the day.

“At this point, we can’t yet tell Park City (turnout) versus Coalville versus Francis, but 30% overall is where we are on voter turnout,” Furse explained. “Hopefully, we’ll get a bunch more ballots in today. We usually do get a lot in on Election Day.”

Furse said Summit County typically has a 45% voter turnout rate for primary elections, and most residents choose to use mail-in ballots rather than going in person to the polls.
