GOOSE CREEK LAKE, Mo. — Thirteen-year-old Dakota “Cody” Trenkle Jr. has beaten the odds, again.
The Missouri teen, who survived a 240-foot fall into a ravine and more than three days alone without food or water, is awake after 11 days in a medically induced coma.
His mom, Stephanie Neely, said the moment she knew her son was going to be OK came when he looked at her and used sign language to say three words: “I love you.”
“I cried. I started bawling,” Neely told 5 On Your Side from his hospital room at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. “That was the sign I really needed… I could finally take a deep breath and finally got some sleep that night because, in my mom heart, I knew he was going to be OK.”
Cody went missing on July 27 near Goose Creek Lake after falling from his skateboard
