Livonia — Less than a week after Livonia voters slapped down a $150 million bond proposal, at least two Livonia City Council members said the city should consider pausing plans to use separate bond funds for a new City Hall and instead address pressing public safety building needs first.
At a City Council meeting on Monday, Council Vice President Martha Ptashnik and Councilwoman Carrie Budzinski said the city should consider putting on hold plans to use $2.4 million in bonds to help build a new City Hall at the city's current civic center on Five Mile and Farmington.
"I believe that moving ahead right now with City Hall does not align with the city's best interests, especially when we have critical issues regarding our public safety facilities," said Ptashnik.
