BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has charged a Beaufort County man with dog fighting on Monday.

Spencer Lamont Moultrie, 54, has been charged with animal fighting or baiting and ill treatment of animals, SLED spokesperson Renée Wunderlich said.

The SLED Dogfighting Unit found the dogs when executing a search warrant after having information that dogs on the property were being used for dogfighting.

Ten dogs and multiple dog-fighting-related items were found at the property. The dogs were placed with the Humane World for Animals organization to receive veterinary care.
