Longtime live music venue The Howlin' Wolf remains open for business after an SUV plowed through the entrance to its main hall over the weekend, pulling down the building's exterior wall and injuring one person.

Owner Howie Kaplan said he worked with the city to ensure there was no immediate danger to the structural stability of the building at 907 S. Peters St. With supports secure, Kaplan said The Howlin' Wolf and its neighbor, The Den, are both operating business as usual.

Kaplan has mostly taken the incident in stride, and he hopes to take the next steps "with a laugh and a wink," as The Howlin' Wolf team works with architects and engineers on repairs.
