Nearly 20 years after Hurricane Katrina, the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet, also called MR-GO, still exists.

WDSU Reporter Shay O'Connor went on a boat tour to see what's being done with MR-GO.

Leaders she spoke with said the main takeaway is that 20 years after Hurricane Katrina, there is still so much work to be done in restoring Louisiana's wetlands.

Amanda Moore with the National Wildlife Federation said, "The levee system needs its wetland protection."

Experts with the National Wildlife Federation said they still want to see more ecosystem restoration.
