PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. — An East Tennessee woman died in the hospital days after a teen driver hit her as she was walking near the Parkway in Pigeon Forge, police said.
The Pigeon Forge Police Department identified the woman as 58-year-old Daisy Valenzuela Vives from Ooltewah.
Police said they responded to the crash around 6 p.m. Friday at the intersection of the Parkway and Dollywood Lane. According to police, 18-year-old Bryson Cooper from Kodak was driving when he hit the pedestrian at the intersection as she was trying to cross Dollywood Lane.
A Lifestar helicopter flew Vives to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with severe injuries. Police said Tuesday she died in the hospital from her injuries.
