Nearly 10 years after a shooting at a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood center left three people dead and more injured, delays continue for the alleged gunman in both state and federal courts.

Attorneys appeared in district court Tuesday for a short hearing that gave few updates to 67-year-old Robert Lewis Dear Jr.'s cases and continuing issues with his competency to stand trial.

Prosecutors told the court that federal attorneys are still gathering information to determine what the next steps are after the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear the appeal case regarding Dear being forcibly medicated in February.

Dear’s criminal cases have been in limbo for several years after he was found incompetent to stand trial early on in his criminal proceedings.
