CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. — A child trafficking suspect was arrested after an extensive federal investigation by the U.S. Marshals Service across both Carolinas.

40-year-old Ricky Dean Clinton was wanted on multiple charges involving crimes against children, including human trafficking of a child.

Clinton was the subject of a multi-county manhunt led by U.S. Marshals, with wanted posters listing charges that include human trafficking of a child, indecent liberties with a child, first-degree kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

The case expanded beyond Clinton, with authorities arresting an alleged accomplice.
