ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — With a few weeks until a new school year, the Rochester City School District is hoping to fill over 100 positions, in addition to 250 teaching vacancies. "When you think about a school, you need clerical, you need custodial, you need food service, you need paraprofessional. You need a lot of support to make that school run on a day-to-day basis," said Ricky Frazier, a recruiter for the RCSD.
District leaders held a job fair downtown Tuesday, one of about a dozen this summer, to help fill the positions. "During the last three years, about half of all the teachers they hired were not yet fully certificated. We are continuing to get resignations from the district, even as late as yesterday. The new superintendent seems to be collaborative and wants the same outcome w
