BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Bills and running back James Cook have agreed to a contract extension, according to multiple reports.
The deal is for four years at a total of $48 million with $30 million guaranteed, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Cook returned to Bills practice on Tuesday following a weeklong 'hold-in' as he sought a new deal ahead of the final season of his rookie contract. As a third-year running back in 2024, he rushed for 1,009 yards and 16 touchdowns, helping get the Bills to the AFC championship game.
On Saturday, Cook suited up and took part in pre-game warmups but declined to play in the Bills' preseason-opening 34-25 loss to the New York Giants. He watched the game in his uniform with sunglasses and a woolen hat from the sideline.
