MAXTON — Three suspects are in custody in connection to a kidnapping and weapons violation, the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office announced late Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Aug. 6, at approximately 8:03 p.m., deputies from the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported assault and kidnapping at 195 Shady Lane, near Maxton. A female victim had been forcibly taken from her residence but later managed to escape the vehicle and flee from the suspects.

Christopher H. Strickland, 31, of Maxton and Candelina M. Bullard, 33, of Lumberton were arrested and charged on Thursday, Aug. 7.
