KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- From rail to table, Kansas City is now home to a cutting-edge cold storage facility that will reshape how frozen goods are shipped across North America.
It's all thanks to a partnership between Americold and CPKC Rail.
This multi-million dollar investment marks another project in Kansas City's growing role as a hub for transportation.
The 335,000 square foot facility was developed in collaboration with CPKC and is expected to create nearly 190 new jobs.
It's the first of its kind on the CPKC line and will serve as a key hub for CPKC's Mexico Midwest Express service, supporting two-way food trade from the U.S. into Mexico and vice versa through to Canada.
