ST. LOUIS - After a stormy afternoon it will be a different kind of shower that we will see tonight in the skies over St. Louis.
The peak of the Perseid meteor shower has arrived as the earth flies through the debris left behind from comet Swift-Tuttle. The Perseid shower is usually one of the best meteor showers of the year.
This year, there are some factors that will limit the viewing tonight, but NASA Ambassador Tony Rice says the show may still be worth a look. You’ll want to look towards the constellation Persius in the eastern sky and be sure to give your eyes a good 10-15 minutes to adjust to the light.
Rice also says to leave the phones inside. Looking at your phone for even an instant immediately restarts that 10-15 minute adjustment clock.
