ST. LOUIS -- A man from Ferguson, Missouri, has been sentenced to four years in prison after stealing the identities of 13 people to obtain loans and other valuables.

According to the U.S. Attorney of the Eastern District of Missouri, Deleon Ford, 32, pleaded guilty to using the identities of multiple people in an attempt to obtain over $40,000.

Ford used the 13 victims' identities to open financial accounts, obtain unsecured loans, rent a U-Haul truck, and open cell phone accounts.

Ford also helped an Illinois jail inmate obtain loans using the identities of the victims.

Ford pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud and one count of aggravated identity theft.
