KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A man accused of following a woman off a Kansas City bus before he allegedly stabbed and robbed her is now behind bars.

Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Saturday, Aug. 9, indicate that Edward E. Washington, 41, of Kansas City, has been charged in connection with an armed robbery.

A probable cause statement filed by the Kansas City Police Department revealed that around 10:20 a.m. on Friday, officers were dispatched to the area of 39th and Troost Ave. with reports of a stabbing.

When first responders arrived, they said they found a woman who reported she had been waiting at the bus stop when a man stabbed her in the shoulder and stole her purse and groceries.
