SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (Edited News Release/KY3) - City crews began sidewalk improvements on Mt. Vernon Street in Springfield.

The work is expected to take approximately six weeks between Lulwood Avenue and Miller Avenue. The project will install new sidewalk segments to connect existing sidewalks along Mt. Vernon and Miller Streets, with the aim of improving pedestrian safety and connectivity to nearby schools and residential areas.

Certain sidewalk segments will be accompanied by additional infrastructure improvements including stormwater drainage, sanitary sewer and gas/water lines.
