EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — While this year's hurricane season has been relatively quiet so far, we're starting to see some action in the Atlantic as we approach its peak.
The Atlantic hurricane season begins June 1, but the frequency of tropical systems tends to increase from mid-August through late October.
As Tropical Storm Erin strengthens and makes its way west toward the Caribbean, it's a good reminder to make sure you're always ready for severe weather.
