HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WWBT) - A 19-year old Henrico County high schooler is now sitting in ICE custody.
Arman Momand was detained by ICE on Friday, August 8, after appearing in court for traffic related offenses.
According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch , he and his family are here from Afghanistan on a special visa.
Momand’s legal trouble stems back to December 2024, when he was charged with reckless driving, eluding the police, driving without a license, and a few other charges that were later dropped.
Court records show he pleaded guilty on Friday to disorderly conduct and reckless driving, leading to his license being revoked.
He was not given any jail time.
Following the court appearance, ICE agents were waiting for the 19-year-old.
Momand and his family came to the U.S. in 20
