SKOWHEGAN, Maine (WABI) - A soon-to-be fourth grader from Norridgewock has a passion for gardening and working outside.
His green thumb recently earned him a blue ribbon at the Skowhegan State Fair.
Weston Chase says his grandparents helped him get involved from an early age.
“When you get to know what everything is, it’s really fun. But in the beginning I was like, ugh. And then when I figured out, ‘Okay, I can do it this way,’ it actually helps make this a lot easier,” said Weston.
“Whatever they were doing, he wanted to do. So, this spring my brother taught him how to drive the bulldozer and my dad taught him how to use the rototiller. So, he’s definitely an inquisitive kid that likes to try new things,” added his mother, Mary Chase.
