DENNISTOWN PLANTATION, Maine (WABI) - A home was destroyed by fire in Dennistwon Plantation Monday evening.

According to Jackman Moose River Fire and Rescue, they received reports of a large column of black smoke and found a home engulfed in flames when they arrived around 6:30 p.m.

They say they were able to save a jeep, a camper, and an atv with the help of neighbors.

Officials say the family who lived in the home was not there when flames broke out.

Departments from Rockwood and West Forks, as well as Forest Rangers, responded.

They add that Monday’s heat posed a challenge for crews.

No injuries were reported, and investigators say the cause is not believed to be suspicious.
