BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) — A Bradenton man shot his brother after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend Tuesday morning, deputies said.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office said at about 8 a.m., deputies were called to the Silver Lake neighborhood.

Upon arriving at 60th Drive East in Bradenton, deputies found Dakota Hayes, 21, outside a home. Hayes had been shot twice.

According to the sheriff's office, as deputies approached, Hayes' brother existed the house and said he shot his brother.

Deputies said the suspect's brother told them he saw Hayes stab his girlfriend before the shooting. Deputies entered the home and found a 23-year-old woman who was stabbed multiple times.
