BRADENTON, Fla. ( WWSB ) - Detectives are investigating a stabbing and shooting with in the 5200 block of 60th Drive East in Bradenton.

Deputies responded to call at about 8 a.m. to a home in the Silver Lake neighborhood. They found 21-year-old Dakota Hayes outside of the home with two gunshot wounds, according to a news release.

As deputies approached, his brother, 24-year-old Willie Hayes came out of the home and told deputies he had shot his brother after witnessing Dakota stab his own girlfriend.

Inside the home, deputies say they found a 23-year-old woman in a bedroom with multiple stab wounds.

They provided first aid until EMS arrived and took the woman and Dakota Hayes to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. They remain hospitalized but are both expected to survive, the news release sa
