Georges Enterprises, the Louisiana-based parent company of food distributor Imperial Trading Co. and other diverse businesses in media, gaming and real estate, has named Nike Georges as its new president, marking the rise of a new generation into the leadership of the family-owned company run by CEO John Georges.

Nike Georges, 28, will be responsible for driving the Elmwood company's growth strategies and leading business development initiatives.

In addition to Imperial Trading, which supplies food and other products to more than 5,000 convenience stores across 21 states, Georges Enterprises serves as the parent company of AMA Distributors and Georges Media Group, which owns The Times-Picayune, The Advocate, The Acadiana Advocate, The Shreveport-Bossier Advocate and Gambit.
