SPRINGDALE -- School Board members approved contracts for two school building replacement projects.

The Springdale School Board unanimously voted to approve construction contracts to replace the existing Westwood and Jones elementary school buildings. Both school facilities opened in 1959.

Jeremy White, director of support services for the School District, said they are "zero-dollar contracts," and the district will bring forth guaranteed maximum prices and other financial details for board approval at a future meeting.

School District Superintendent Jared Cleveland clarified the School Board was only voting to enter an agreement with two construction companies for the respective building projects. Nabholz Construction Corporation will handle the Westwood Elementary project, and Baldwin
