BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — A former Massachusetts State Police trooper was sentenced for his role in a scheme to falsify Commercial Driver’s License test scores and pass applicants that either failed the test or did not complete the full test, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts.
64-year-old Calvin Butner, of Halifax, was sentenced to three months in prison, followed by one year of supervised release with the first three months of home confinement.
According to the USAO, Butner was a member of MSP’s CDL unit, which administered CDL tests that allow for a person to drive a commercial vehicle.
