DIGHTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The driver caught on camera hitting a construction sign on Main Street in Dighton earlier this month will not face any criminal charges.

The video was posted on social media and quickly garnered significant attention.

The Dighton Police Department responded to the original post on Facebook, saying it was investigating the matter.

A police spokesperson tells ABC6 Dighton police identified the driver as a town resident who works in a different community.

Police spoke to the driver, the spokesperson said, and issued a $55 ticket for improper operation of a vehicle.

Police said the road barrier was not damaged.
