BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — An endangered Masai giraffe at Franklin Park Zoo is showing signs of improvement, after the zoo said he was failing to nurse.

Specialists at the hospital for large animals at Tufts University said he’s eating more and his hydration is improving.

The calf received a second plasma transfusion.

The zoo said it’s still taking him a bit to latch on to the bottle, but he’s been drinking the full amount.

The calf will continue to get treatment for the next few days.
