DICKINSON, ND (KXNET) — One of the people now working under President Donald Trump spent time in western North Dakota on Tuesday.

U.S. Forest Service chief Tom Schultz traveled out to hear from people who make a living on federal land. Less than six months after being given the job, Schultz traveled to the western prairie.

"We're getting back to basics," Schultz said. "So, multiple use, sustained yields. That's a big focus for us."

His visit included a round table with ranchers who raise cattle that graze on Forest Service grasslands in western North Dakota.

"Who better to learn from than the ranchers and the energy industry who are out here on the ground doing this every day?" Sen. John Hoeven said.
