Ben Sheaf should be back and available for Coventry City selection before the season’s first international break.

The Sky Blues skipper received the good news following scan reports on his groin after he was forced off the field minutes after going on as a second half substitute against Hull in last Saturday’s opening match of the new campaign.

Although coming off as a precaution, initial fears of a more serious injury have been allayed and the 27-year-old midfielder is hoped to be fit ahead of the trip to Oxford United at the end of the month.

Providing an update on the injured player, head coach Frank Lampard told CoventryLive: “He got scanned and we’re hoping he will be back before this side of the international break. Oxford is the last game before the break so hopefully then.”
