PRESCOTT, Wash. – A fire that erupted in Walla Walla County burned dozens of acres.

The Walla Walla North County Fire District reported that the fire started just off Iberson Road near Prescott shortly before 10:00 a.m.

Fire crews managed to contain the blaze within two hours. They stated that the fire seemed to have been ignited by a combine.

The flames spread through wheat fields and other vegetation, particularly in steep canyons that posed challenges for the firefighters.

The fire district mentioned that the full extent of the fire has not been measured yet, but they estimate it burned between 100 and 150 acres.
